just when we were thinking of taking off the snow tires....

WHAM!!!
Where'd everything go????This is about how much fell last night. We had an interesting time...my morning consisted of getting up, putting on my snowpants, pushing cars up our road and digging them out of drifts.
Ever an optimist, Meshach lost not time in rushing outside to play in the winter wonderland. He too has his jammies under the snowpants.
Some places are way above his head...I almost lost him when he decided to wade through some unplowed snow.

I think we'll stay home today.

Meshach at work

This morning found me suddenly remembering that I had a class to teach and no one to babysit, what else was there to do but to put Meshach in his ski pants, boots and bring him along. It wasn't long before he comandeered the focus of every camera in the class. He really should have been a model.
Believe it or not this was not staged. He was piling snow on the posts when he
noticed that three lenses were pointing in his direction he leaned on the post and
flashed his most charming grin.

Pretending that the snow was icy he would "slip" and let out a scream of delight that frightened the dog and sent all cameras in his direction. What an actor!

Funny he didn't sink up to his armpits in this stuff like we did!

Yet another joy...running down the hills. I think he covered twice the distance than the rest of us.
...and lastly, since it was a photography class, here is a shot of a tree. Not nearly as interesting or as adorable as the previous subject (who took up the vast majority of my pictures) but a picture nonetheless.

So there we have it. Everyone is up to date and it was a successful day of picture taking!

Christmas 2008

Merry terribly belated Christmas to all. Here are a few pictures of the little munchkin at Christmas.

To spur creativity in Meshach and cleaning skills in mommy she wisely got him paper, glue, sparkly glue, stickers and markers. He set to work right away making the carpet more visually attractive and from then on learned the use of paper and was under close surveilence.
Apart from sprakles and glue his morning consisted of monster trucks....
going...
going....
gone!

Birthday Party

I'm rather dissapointed. I took a bunch of pictures of his pary and must have accidentally erased them. Ooops. Well heres what we had for supper...if you have a weak stomach and are one of the people who ate this pizza I would reccommend skipping this post.
Meshach helped make his birthday supper...his choice....pizza! One would think that this is a picture of him carefully pacing each slice of cheese, covering the toppings with love. In fact just the opposite was happening. I was desperately trying to get all the topping on as fast as possible without them getting inhaled and mushed into the dough by curious little fingers...all while holding a camera! Meshach stopped long enough to show the camera the piece of cheese he was about to devour.
The pizza is done and a doughy, tomatoy, cheezy but insanely adorable little boy is wanting up. How can I resist? If the shirt and hands gross you out, you should have seen the chair he was standing on!
And juice....he likes to help mommy make juice.

Hey everyone. I have to send my appologies. I didn't realize that there were people out there who checked this blog for Meshach updates. So sorry. I will try and post more frequently in the future. So here is a quick, really quick overview of the last few months. Once I get Christmas off my camera they will go on here as well. Take care and enjoy.

Raking the leaves was fun but jumping in them was better!

Now that there's snow we can build (and eat) snowmen. We have a few snow caves out back since the snow is getting too deep to trudge through. Its a geat back yard. Theres a hill for sliding, caves for crawling in, a fire pit mommy still has to dig out to have marshmellow roasts and lots of snow for falling in.

Then, of course, there was his birthday. Lucky kid got 2 cakes, one on his birthday and one at his party. His birthday cake was Muck from Bob the Builder (which he can sing the theme song to by the way) and the other one was Lighthing McQueen from the movie Cars (which is the only full length movie he will sit through).

The icing was the best part.

At the top of the world...well, the Rockies anyways.

So this is what we busted out backs, strained our joints, lost most of our hearing and almost all of our sanity and all of our sleep over...amazing! There aren't words to describe this. So when is the next trip?
Berg Glacier. This was taken from our tent. I lay awake all night pulling Meshach back into a comfortable position and listening to all the creaks, groans and booms of the avelanches! It was amazing.
So those are some scenery pictures I thought you might enjoy.

More Roson pics

Yummy rice! Kids aren't really "bear friendly" on trips I found out. Rice everywhere, chocolate drooled down shirts, trail mix dumped beside the tent. Bear heaven! Fortunately we didn't see any. His screaming must have scared them off. Good job Meshach!
Kisses to keep him entertained on the trail. There were so many waterfalls we kept him going by telling him that we wer e going to find another. When that didn't work anymore we used chocolate covered raisins!
What a cute little puffy blue marshmellow!
Happy camper....
Angry camper!

It has been way too long.

Heres a brief over view of our summer. Of course lots more happened but I havn't been on top of things here on the computer. So here we are at Summit Lake enjoying the early summer sun and warm water...
Mmmmmm whatermelon! Always a summer fave.
His first pony ride at the Hubble homestead. He wouldn't go on unless I came too. However he was more than happy about the train ride. Such a boy! Mommy likes the pretty horses and Meshach prefers the trucks! Whatever will we do?
Ah. Horses again. This time he wasn't as scared. He kept giving me the hay so that I would feed them.
I'll have to add some more pics but here we are at Mt. Robson. This is the first night and he has worked up an appetite for sushi rice! Mmmmm sushi! Nothn' like eating sushi, looking at mountain tops, listening to the waterfall and putting your feet up after a long day!

At the Beach!

For being June the water was amazingly warm and Meshach enjoyed pouring water into a hole someone dug for a clambake and watching the speed boats.

Mmmmmm. Watermelon! A new favorite that quicky evolved into an outside food only.

I once had a dream...several in fact, but this one has permiated my existance since I entered that blessed (and long awaited) final year of high school. Tired of getting headaches over algebra and chemistry, I decided that my goal as a marine biologist should have died long ago, when I was 8, and realized that there was more to it that swimming with the whales, taking their pictures and documenting their sounds. Actually I lie. I didn't figure that out until I was in grade 12 and loosing sleep because I couldn't make x=13.89! I'm not the brightest person on the planet. Not because I couldn't make x equal some obscure number but because it took me that long to figure out marine biologists spend more time figuring out what x equals than having fun in the water. So my grade 12 year was spent dropping chemistry and taking as many art courses as possible. That, and taking as many spares as possible. My focus switched from achadamia to the arts. I wanted to become and artist! Well, its taken me 8 years and I'm finally doing it! I mean I'm no Michaelangelo or Ansel Adams but I did get a call from PG's art studio today telling me that I'm going to be a part of their art bazzar on June 16th! At that moment I may as well have been Michaelangelo! Only now as I write this am I starting to come off cloud 9 and am realizing how much work I have to do before then! So there we have it...dreams can come true!

Meshach's feeling better

Now that the cold is over and teething is almost done we have all been feeling alot better! Meshach even helped us plant the garden...well sort of. Now the trick is to keep him out of the dirt. And now that we've taught him how to pick dandylions not to pick the other flowers...so we built a fence!
